Project Overview

Engineering for One of the World’s Harshest Solar Environments

The Benban project forms part of one of the world’s largest solar clusters, with total development capacity reaching approximately 2.0 GW. Philadelphia Solar supplied 66 MW of high-efficiency modules for a desert site exposed to temperatures exceeding 50°C, abrasive dust and recurring sandstorms.

To protect long-term yield, the module solution combined a low temperature coefficient, anti-soiling glass treatment and PID resistance measures engineered for demanding desert operation.
