Giant Industrial Group (Al Emlaq) Solar Project
A landmark turnkey solar project in Al Mafraq, recognized as the largest on-grid rooftop operating PV plant in the Middle East at its launch.
Record-Scale Rooftop PV Delivered in Al Mafraq
The Giant Industrial Group (Al Emlaq) solar project transformed a large industrial rooftop into a high-output on-grid PV plant designed to reduce grid dependency and cover a major share of the facility’s electricity consumption.
Delivered as a turnkey project, the plant combines locally manufactured Philadelphia Solar modules, a rooftop Magnelis® mounting solution, ABB power conversion, SCADA monitoring, and dedicated O&M response.

Core Project Specifications
A concise technical snapshot of the Al Emlaq rooftop PV plant and its commercial operating milestone.
Built for High Annual Energy Output
The system was engineered to deliver strong yearly generation while covering a major portion of the factory’s electricity demand.
4.5 GWh Yearly Generation
The rooftop plant is designed for high annual production, using a large distributed PV field across the facility roof to generate approximately 4.5 GWh per year.
70% Consumption Coverage
The solar plant supports the facility by covering around 70% of its electricity consumption, reducing operational exposure to grid power costs over the long term.
Engineered for Rooftop Scale, Monitoring, and Uptime
From module selection to inverter rooms and SCADA-based operation, the project combines high-output equipment with continuous technical supervision.

7,694 Mono-Crystalline Panels
The rooftop PV plant consists of 7,694 high-efficiency mono-crystalline panels rated at 360 Wp each. Philadelphia Solar introduced the PS-M72 module with 72 mono PERC cells, enabling 35% more power compared with standard 60-cell modules.

PS-7T-Fixed Rooftop Magnelis® Structure
The system uses a specialized rooftop Magnelis® steel mounting structure, model PS-7T-Fixed, proudly manufactured locally by Philadelphia Solar for durable rooftop integration.

ABB Trio Inverters and SCADA-Based O&M
Power conversion is handled by ABB Trio inverters rated at 50 kW each. The plant is equipped with SCADA monitoring, supported by a comprehensive 2-year operation and maintenance contract to maximize required generation and enable fast on-site response.
Five-Month Execution With Quality Control
The project combined fast installation, certified quality inspection, and an O&M framework designed for operational continuity.
Record Installation
Completed within a five-month execution window.
TUV Quality
Inspected and certified by TUV Austria Hellas.
O&M Response
On-site maintenance team supporting zero downtime.
