Record-Scale Rooftop PV Delivered in Al Mafraq

The Giant Industrial Group (Al Emlaq) solar project transformed a large industrial rooftop into a high-output on-grid PV plant designed to reduce grid dependency and cover a major share of the facility’s electricity consumption.

Delivered as a turnkey project, the plant combines locally manufactured Philadelphia Solar modules, a rooftop Magnelis® mounting solution, ABB power conversion, SCADA monitoring, and dedicated O&M response.

At its launch, the project stood as the largest on-grid rooftop operating PV plant in the Middle East — completed in only five months.

Generation Performance

Built for High Annual Energy Output

The system was engineered to deliver strong yearly generation while covering a major portion of the factory’s electricity demand.

4.5 GWh Yearly Generation

The rooftop plant is designed for high annual production, using a large distributed PV field across the facility roof to generate approximately 4.5 GWh per year.

4.5GWh per year

70% Consumption Coverage

The solar plant supports the facility by covering around 70% of its electricity consumption, reducing operational exposure to grid power costs over the long term.
